1. The service

SampleNote is a tool for recording research samples: scan, photograph or dictate sample details, manage storage, reminders and follow-ups, export sheets and handover packages, and print labels. It gives no medical advice, is not a medical device, and does not replace clinical judgement.

2. Your responsibilities

• Enter patient details only with patient consent or ethics approval, and follow your institution's and local rules.
• Check suggestions from photo and speech recognition before saving them; they can be wrong.
• Data is kept only on your device. Create handover packages regularly as your own backup; if the device is lost or the app is deleted, data may be lost for good.
• Do not use the app for personal data unrelated to research sample management, or for anything unlawful.

3. Paid plans

Some features may require a paid plan. Plans and prices are shown in the app, and subscriptions are handled by the app store you use.

4. Intellectual property

The software, interface and documents belong to us; the data you record belongs to you and your lab.

5. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for data loss or errors caused by device failure, missing backups or unchecked recognition results. Rights you cannot waive under local law are not affected.

6. Changes and governing law

When these terms change, the app asks you to agree again. These terms are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China, without affecting consumer protection rights you have where you live.
